I’m scared of my partner, where can I go for help?

NYC Hope operates a 24-hour hotline for anyone experiencing abuse in their relationship, whether emotional, physical, financial, or otherwise. You can call the free and confidential hotline at 1-800-621-HOPE (4673) to speak with someone who can help plan for your safety and discuss available services (including emergency shelter and family court orders of protection).

I have been abusive in my relationship and am looking for services, what should I do?

It’s hard to admit you’ve hurt a loved one, but there are services that can help you if you want to change. Call PAC’s free, confidential hotline at (646) 582-0420 to learn more about their voluntary services.

Alternatively, you can call Men Stopping Violence (404-270-9894) or email contact@menstoppingviolence.org. The organization engages men and communities to take action to end violence against women, girls, and communities of color.

I was the victim of a crime, what can I do to get help?

It’s brave of you to share this experience. If you want someone to talk to or want to learn about all your options you can call the Crime Victims Hotline at 1-866-689-HELP (4357) or the Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-800-656-4673. Alternatively, you can also contact the NYS Domestic and Sexual Violence hotline at 1-800-942-6906. For further help, visit the NYS Office for Prevention of Domestic Violence for confidential support, legal advice, referral services, housing, and additional resources.

Safe Horizon is the largest non-profit victim services agency in the United States and offers assistance to children, adults, and families affected by crime and abuse throughout New York City. To get more information about how to identify child abuse, who to call, and how to help, you can call NY Child Abuse helpline at 1-800-CHILDREN or the NYS Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment at 1-800-342-3730.
