Two New Publications Now Available

Posted on Dec 19, 2016

Today CJA released the latest reports in two of our regular series:  the CJA Annual Report and the Annual Report on the Adult Case Processing of Juvenile Offenders in New York City.   Both of these series provide valuable information and data on the City’s defendant population each year.

The 2015 Annual Report provides information on CJA activities as well as arrest and case-processing data. The report covers arrests in 2015, including CJA interview volume, release recommendation, demographics, charges, arraignment outcomes, bail amounts, pretrial release, failure to appear (FTA), and CJA supervised release and other special programs.  Failure to appear and release data for felony cases are presented for 2014 arrests, to allow enough time for the processing of serious offenses.  To access the report, click here

The Annual Report on the Adult Case Processing of Juvenile Offenders in New York City is the latest addition to this annual series by Marian J. Gewirtz monitoring court activity for juveniles under the age of 16 who are prosecuted in the adult court under New York’s Juvenile Offender (JO) Law.  The current report covers JO arrests during 2015.  The series provides information regarding arrest and court activity for JOs, including disposition, sentencing and release-status decisions for these cases citywide and separately by borough.  To read the report, click here
